My name is Amber, a petite 2-year-old Tortoiseshell with deep golden eyes.  My fur is black with orange and tan highlights.  I am active and constantly on the go.  I am very curious about my surroundings.  I am a talker and will tell you all about my day as I follow you from room to room.  I am outgoing and loaded with personality.  I like to play with catnip balls and soft toys.  I also enjoy playing in boxes and baskets, sitting in the sink, and sleeping in the cat tree.  I love to sit in the window and watch the birds.  I like to be combed, and petted, and I will purr for you. 

My story . . I was an abandoned, unsprayed family pet.  Neighbors thought I had given birth to two litters of kittens.  I never had anyone who loved and cared for me until a Greyfoot volunteer took me home.  As a stray I did not get much attention and am learning what it is like to be loved and held.   I am looking for a home where I will be the only cat in the house and there are no dogs.  What can I say -- I chase other cats and I am afraid of dogs, regardless of their size.  Kids must be teenagers or older -- I play too rough for young kids.
